Workers were hired to clean and dry the condoms before reshaping them with different sized wooden dildos and repackaging them, local reports claim. The operation was ran out of a warehouse in the southern Binh Duong province, which was raided by police on September 19. The owner, Pham Thi Thanh Ngoc, 33, told police she had been receiving the used condoms once a month from and unknown person.
Police found nearly 324,000 used condoms, equivalent to 360 kilos. It is unclear how many recycled condoms were already sold. Reports claim they were being supplied to nearby hotels and market stalls within the province. The warehouse owner was taken into custody in the town of Tan Uyen following the raid. Re-using condoms risks unwanted pregnancies and the spread STDs.
