The Israel Defense Forces says it has bombed a number of Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip in response to the ongoing rocket attacks from the enclave, including eight members of the terror group who were launching projectiles at Israel.
The military says it also struck two rocket launchpads and two observation posts belonging to the terror group.

The IDF Home Front Command says schools in central Israel will only open tomorrow if shelters are readily accessible.
The same holds for workplaces.
Outdoor gatherings in central Israel are limited to 30 outdoors, 50 indoors.
The rules are in effect until Tuesday evening.
UK denounces rocket fire, urges ‘immediate de-escalation on all sides’
Britain condemns the firing of rockets at Jerusalem and other locations within Israel, calling for “immediate de-escalation on all sides.”
“The UK condemns the firing of rockets at Jerusalem and locations within Israel. The ongoing violence in Jerusalem and Gaza must stop,” Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab tweets.
“We need an immediate de-escalation on all sides, and end to targeting of civilian populations.”
With Israel under fire, Netanyahu to skip Jerusalem Day event at yeshiva
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will not be attending Jerusalem Day celebrations at the Merkaz Harav yeshiva in Jerusalem on Monday night, following the Gaza rocket fire, Hebrew reports say.
The prime minister is heading to Defense Ministry headquarters in Tel Aviv for security briefings.
EU: Rocket fire on Israel ‘totally unacceptable and needs to stop’
European Union Ambassador to Israel Emanuele Giaufret says he is “extremely concerned” by spiraling tensions between Israel and the Palestinians in East Jerusalem.
The EU diplomat also condemns rocket fire on Israel from the Gaza Strip as “totally unacceptable.”

Clashes between Palestinians and police on Temple Mount resume
Palestinians have resumed clashing with Israeli security forces on the Temple Mount, according to Palestinian media.
The Palestinian Red Crescent says 334 Palestinians have been wounded so far today in clashes in the Old City with Israeli police. Around 258 of those were hospitalized, the first aid organization says.
Seven are still in serious condition, with some undergoing surgery, according to the Red Crescent.
Rocket sirens, explosions heard in Ashkelon
A fresh round of rocket sirens sounds in the city of Ashkelon and surrounding communities.
This comes after the Palestinian Islamic Jihad terror group threatened to carry out an attack at 9 p.m.
There are no immediate reports of injuries or damage.
Residents report hearing the sounds of explosions.
According to TV reports, at least 10 rockets were fired at the city. This is not immediately confirmed by the army.
Knesset gives preliminary approval to bill legalizing outposts
The Knesset approves a bill that would legalize West Bank outposts.
The proposed legislation clears its preliminary vote 43-30.
It would require three more votes to become law.
Hamas says it’ll respond if Israel strikes civilian structures in Gaza
As the Israeli military gears up for an expected air offensive in the Gaza Strip, Hamas’s armed wing warns that it will respond should civilian homes or infrastructure be damaged.
“We warn the Zionist enemy that if it strikes civilian installations or homes belong to our people in Gaza, our response will be strong and painful and beyond the enemy’s expectations,” a spokesperson for the Izz al-Din al-Qassam brigades says.

Fresh sirens sound in the community of Kerem Shalom, east of southern Gaza.
There are no immediate reports of injuries or damage.
Kerem Shalom has been targeted a number of times throughout the evening by mortar shells, most of which have fallen short of the border or landed near the security fence.
Netanyahu: Israel will respond ‘with great force’ to Gaza rockets
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vows a forceful response to the Gaza rocket fire.
“Israel will respond with great force. We will not tolerate attacks on our territory, our capital, our citizens, or our soldiers,” says Netanyahu.
“Those who attack us will pay a heavy price,” says Netanyahu, adding that Israel does not seek an escalation of hostilities.
He says the current round of fighting may last “some time.”
